MOLLEMM
Food Pantry

Our goal is to end hunger one meal, one family at a time.

Our Story

We, Carolyn, Cynthia and Sadie, along with our other four siblings, grew up in Walstonburg, a town in Greene County, North Carolina. Our mother Mollie was a stay-at-home mom; and our father Emmitt was a farmer.

Together we witnessed, on a daily basis, the strong work ethic of our parents. As a farmer, our father worked in the fields, planted a garden of corn, potatoes and many other vegetables and also raised livestock and chickens.

Our mother loved to cook and would prepare delicious homecooked meals for the family. She would also can vegetables to help us through the winter.

In addition to being hard workers, both our parents were compassionate and caring individuals and would share the fruits of their labor and meals with those in the community. They would personally deliver the items and supplement them with their own funds.

Their discipline, caring nature and generosity towards others has left an indelible mark on our lives. So much so, that the three of us envisioned and birthed Mollemm Food Panty named after, and in honor of, our parents. In addition, one of our brothers has a garden and to this day, shares the fruits of his labor with others.

We also have a love for Veterans.  Our father, uncles, brothers, nephews, a sister, a niece, cousins and friends have served in the military. Our oldest brother Hilton, served over 40 years in the Army.  Words are not enough to express the gratitude that we hold in our hearts for their sacrifice and service to our country.

Our goal is to provide seniors, veterans and many others with sufficient and nutritious food, and to continue our parents’ legacy of community outreach.

Our Community

On Sunday, March 29th, Mollemm Food Pantry also delivered a Sunday meal to Angela and her mom, who were overjoyed and grateful to know that others are thinking of them at this time.

Woodside Senior Apartments

For the past two years, Mollemm Food Pantry has delivered food to our senior neighbors at Woodside Senior Apartments in Fort Washington, MD.  We provide non-perishables as well as produce.

Branchwood Towers

This month we began delivering food to Branchwood Towers, our second senior building located in Clinton, MD.   We are grateful to all our donors who continue to support us in helping to feed the needy.

Charles Phelps delivery

During these tough and unprecedented times for all of us, Mollemm Food Pantry recognizes that now more than ever we need to look out for each other. The owners delivered bags of essential items to Charles Phelps, a disabled veteran. Mr. Phelps was very appreciative that we thought of him. He said “Thank God there are people out there who are thinking about others and sharing with others”.
